Privacy Policy

Upheld Prayer is a personal prayer reminder and small-group prayer app built by Vital Integrators LLC. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What we collect

Account & profile

• Account information: If you sign in, we store your email address and display name via Firebase Authentication.
• Optional contact identifiers: If you choose to provide a phone number or email address in your profile, we store it so other users with that identifier can send you a prayer request. You can disable this discoverability at any time in Settings → Privacy.
• Push notification token: To deliver prayer reminders and notifications from your prayer partners, we store a device token associated with your account.

Your prayer content

• Prayer needs: The prayer requests and reflections you enter are stored in your account on Google Firebase Firestore so they sync across your devices. They are private to you unless you explicitly share a specific request with a connection or a public link.
• Shared prayer requests: Prayer requests you share via a public link are accessible to anyone with that link until you delete them.
• Sent prayer requests: When you send a prayer request to your connections, we store the request text, recipient list, and which recipients have marked themselves as praying, so the feature can work.

Prayer partners (connections)

• Connection records: When you accept an invite from another user (or your invite is accepted), we store a small record on each side noting that you are connected, along with the other user's display name. These records are visible only to the two of you.
• Block list: If you block another user, we store their account identifier on your account so we can prevent them from sending you content. This list is private to you.
• Reports: If you report another user for abuse, harassment, or other concerns, we store your report (including the report reason, optional details, and the time submitted) so our team can review and respond. We use these reports only for safety review and may keep them for as long as needed to investigate.

Donations

• Donation records: In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We do not see or store your payment information. We only receive a confirmation of whether a purchase was made.

What we do not collect

• We do not collect your location.
• We do not access your contacts, camera, or microphone.
• We do not serve ads or use advertising identifiers.
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.
• We do not use analytics or behavioral tracking SDKs.

How we use your data

Your data is used solely to operate the app:

• Show you your prayer needs and sync them across devices
• Send the prayer reminders you have configured
• Deliver prayer requests between users who have explicitly connected with each other
• Show you who in a group request has marked themselves as praying
• Enforce your privacy choices (such as blocks and discoverability settings)
• Investigate abuse reports submitted by users

We do not use your prayer content for advertising, training of machine learning models, or any purpose other than operating the app.

User-to-user content & safety

Upheld Prayer supports one-to-one and small-group sharing of prayer requests between users who have mutually accepted an invitation. We do not host a public feed.

• Invitations: Connections form only when both users have explicitly opted in via an invite code.
• Block: You can block any connection from Manage connections → Block. Blocking removes the connection and prevents the blocked user from sending you prayer requests or notifications.
• Report: You can report any connection from Manage connections → Report. We review reports promptly — typically within 24 hours — and may remove abusive accounts, content, or both. Egregious or repeated violations may result in permanent removal from the service.
• No tolerance for abuse: Harassment, hateful conduct, spam, impersonation, sexually explicit material, content endangering minors, and content that violates applicable law are not permitted. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of these standards.

Data storage

Data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore and Authentication), hosted in the United States. Firebase's privacy policy is available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account and all associated data from inside the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This action:

• Removes your user profile and prayer content
• Removes you from any connections you've made (the other side is cleaned up automatically)
• Removes you from anyone who has blocked you
• Expires any open invitations you've sent
• Deletes your authentication account

Reports you have submitted may be retained for a reasonable period to support ongoing safety review. If you have questions about a specific deletion or want assistance, email help@vitalintegrators.com.

Children

Upheld Prayer is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
